Ahmedabad’s peripheries expand paving the way for urbanisation and development of basic amenities there
Last five years have seen the emergence of a multitude of cultural projects on the fringes of the city. With plenty of options available, buyers and investors are spoilt for choice be it apartments, penthouses, bungalows, villas, flats or tenements. Most of the developers in Gujarat, especially in cities like Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot, have so much to offer as the outskirts of these cities have now become viable options for development.
“Fringes of the city are developing too fast and are merging to the city’s core areas. The very first emerging area that comes to me is Shilaj. It has become a hotspot owing to Sindhu Bhavan Road and the area being dust-free with 36-metre wide road adds to its charm and growth. South Bopal is developing at a very fast pace too. Credit for this areas development goes to the IT companies based out of Prahladnagar area,“ avers Sharvil Shridhar, director, A. Shridhar Group. Previously, some of these areas were a village or too far from the city, however, with the growth of population and the mu nicipal corpo ration giving permission for develop ment in such areas, now, real estate market is flourishing here. In fact, these far-away and green areas are attracting many townships projects, as Gujaratis are looking for homes away from the noise and pollution of the main city.
Ahmedabad has taken its development to areas like Naroda, Sheelaj Gam and South Bopal. Vadodara is seen flourishing in areas like Kalali, Sevasi, Vemali, Savli, Talsat and Bhayali.
Previously, these areas did not have much infrastructure, but with an increase in immigrants and population, the municipal corporation developed road infrastructure really well.
