Vadaj as an area which is divided into two large parts, old Vadaj and New Vadaj. These both are like a body’s two arms but they are absolutely different from each other. Old Vadaj the ever existent locality is comparatively less developed and is majorly occupied by chawls and basic raw houses. Population here is largely primitive and mi grated. The communities staying here comprise of Bharwad, Bhil, Rajputs, Suthars and such hardworking class of the society.Vadaj majorly served as stay place for refugees and people of Sindh who became homeless at the time of partition. This is one of the reasons of large numbers of Sindhis still residing in Vadaj.
New Vadaj is totally opposite to old Vadaj and is example of development and transmutation. Amdavadisfeel proud to attach New Vadaj to their residential details. Middle class rather upper middle class crowd stays in new Vadaj in majority. Vadaj is preferred choice to reside since it accommodates people from various strata of life.
